Community Plan

The Parkland-Spanaway-Midland Communities Plan was initially adopted on June 11, 2002. Community Plans are a part of the Comprehensive Plan and provide a more detailed sense of how the community wants the area to develop in the future.

The plan area includes three separate, but interconnected communities. The communities are characterized by a mix of historic urban communities, new suburban residential neighborhoods, semi-rural and large lot residential areas, Pacific Lutheran University, Sprinker Recreation Center/Spanaway Park, the Clover Creek and Spanaway Creek watersheds, Spanaway and Tule Lakes, and major commercial and transportation arterials.

During the 2015 Comprehensive Plan Update process, community members expressed a need for an update to the Community Plans. County Council has directed PPW to update four of the plans over the course of 2016-2017, including The Frederickson Community Plan.
