Update: Contractor scheduled for emergency repairs. Continued weight restriction until completed.
Update to temporary vehicle weight restriction:
A Pierce County contractor will be making emergency repairs to the Anderson Island ferry ramp (apron) on Saturday, Aug. 28. Cracks around the hinge of the ramp were identified, requiring immediate repairs.
Starting tomorrow morning, a crew will be making the repairs between runs to avoid service disruptions to the ferry schedule. We don’t anticipate any impacts to riders throughout the day, and we hope to complete the work by the end of the day.
The weight restriction for vehicles in excess of 30,000 pounds gross vehicle weight remains in place until the repair work is complete.
We will keep riders informed as we get new information. We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.
