In 2022, President Joe Biden signed a bill commemorating Juneteenth as a federal holiday. The date is significant in American History and celebrates June 19th, 1865, when the final slaves were freed at last, a full 2.5 years after Abraham Lincoln proclaimed all slaves free.  The Juneteenth festival at Stewart Heights Park will host over fifty vendor booths from trade associations, local businesses, nonprofits, and finance. The festival will also include a main stage filled with amazing performances and speakers, an interactive kid’s zone and stage, face painting, and playground fun. Last year’s event was a huge success and we are certain that this year's event will be even more successful.  The Pierce County ADRC will have a vendor booth at this event so we hope to see you there!
