Nisqually River Council Citizens Advisory Committee public meeting
Wednesday, October 10, 2018
The Washington State Legislature enacted the Streamflow Restoration Act (ESSB 6091) in January 2018. The Act mandated the Nisqually Watershed Planning Unit develop a watershed plan amendment to mitigate impacts of future exempt wells on stream flows. In addition, the Act authorized $300 million in capital funds over 15 years for watershed planning, watershed restoration and enhancement projects.
The Nisqually Indian Tribe is the lead agency for watershed planning in the Nisqually Watershed and has reconvened the Nisqually Planning Unit to respond the legislative mandate. To join the unit by Oct. 31, call (360)456-5221, ext. 2136.
The Nisqually River Council Citizens Advisory Committee will host an information session on Thursday, October 11 from 6-8:00pm at the tribe's natural resource office - 4820 She Nah Num Dr SE, Olympia 98513.
The public will learn from planning unit participants, the Nisqually Indian Tribe and Thurston County. Public comment is accepted.
