Winds force Fantasy Lights to close again; Parks offers more half-priced nights to compensate

Due to the high winds and stormy conditions predicted for Thursday evening, Dec. 11, the Pierce County Parks and Recreation department has opted to close its winter Fantasy Lights experience for the night in the interest of safety.

Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park also stayed dark the previous night for the same reason, prompting county parks officials to add three more half-priced nights to the calendar to make up for the unforeseen closures.

Barring any more weather-related concerns, visitors to Fantasy Lights can enjoy entry for $7 per car (busses not included) instead of the regular $14 per car from Dec. 15-17. The park is open from 5:30 to 9 p.m. and runs through the evening of Jan. 1.
