500 vehicles expected at Sept. 26 Classic Car & Truck Show

Pierce County Parks and Recreation will hold the 13th annual Hi-Tech Collision Classic Car & Truck Show at Sprinker Recreation Center on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Hours for the free spectator event are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 500 classic cars and trucks are anticipated to be on display.

“This year we’re excited to welcome back our title sponsor, Hi-Tech Collision," said Becca Boyle, event coordinator at Sprinker Recreation Center. "We will also feature a ‘zombies’ theme, and we’re inviting staff, spectators and participants to join in the festivities with their zombie-inspired attire! Lady Luck Steakhouse Saloon is also back with us this year serving their themed luncheon. It's sure to be a great afternoon in the park with family, friends and classic car enthusiasts. Everyone is invited, so please join us – rain or shine."

Spinker’s General Manager, Kyle Wintermute, returns as master of ceremonies for the show, which also features multiple car-related vendors, on-site pinstriping and more than $7,000 in prize giveaways.

Participants can pre-register a classic car or truck (pre-1985 models) by Sept. 20 for only $15 or register on the day of the event for $20. Souvenir T-shirts may be pre-ordered by Sept. 20 with entry for just $10.

To register, call Sprinker Recreation Center at 253-798-4000. Day-of-event registration for participants begins at 7 a.m. followed by judging at 11 a.m. and the award presentation at 2 p.m. Dash plaques and goodie bags are included for the first 300 entries. Gates open for spectators at 8 a.m. with free admission for all ages.
