Following a lengthy and thorough recruitment process, Peter Ansara has been named Director of Community Connections for Pierce County. He begins his new role on May 2, 2016.
“Peter is passionate about serving Pierce County and the important work of Community Connections," said County Executive Pat McCarthy. “He is known for leading teams, creating strong ties with community partners and achieving results. I am delighted to welcome him to the County.”
Ansara most recently served as the Executive Director of the Korean Women’s Association and brings extensive experience in community programs.Previously, he held leadership roles with Prium Companies, LLC and Tacoma Housing Authority. In these roles he was responsible for overseeing a variety of programs and services that address in-home care, low-income housing, domestic violence, healthcare and other human services programs.
"I am honored to be part of Pierce County and the Community Connections team,” said Ansara. “I look forward to serving those who need it most, the most vulnerable and voiceless citizens of our community."
Ansara earned a B.A. in business administration from Columbia College, Columbia, MO and a Masters of Human Relations from University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2002 after 25 years of service.
