[ARCHIVED] Treatment Center Referral Agencies

In light of recent Statement of Charges issued by the Washington State Department of Health alleging serious violations, including allegations of fraud, Pierce County Superior Court has at least temporarily removed the following agencies from the referral list of treatment providers made available in connection with defendants ordered to treatment as part of their sentences: Abracadabra, Renton A Change Counseling and Doorway to Recovery. This action is taken effective immediately and is subject to review by the Court after full adjudication of the charges. Updated substance abuse referral agencies and domestic violence/anger management referral agencies lists are attached.

For any litigant who is already enrolled in or has recently completed treatment with one of these agencies, please be advised that it will be up to the individual judicial officer assigned to your case whether to accept treatment from these agencies as proof of compliance with any court order or sentence. You are advised to consult an attorney if you have any questions.

Parties who are court ordered to treatment are cautioned that before utilizing any treatment service or agency, they should verify that agency's current license status and assess the quality and integrity of the treatment. Pierce County Superior Court does not certify, endorse or recommend any particular provider. Defendants and other litigants are strongly urged to do their own independent investigation to determine which provider best meets their needs.
