[ARCHIVED] Doing Business in Pierce County - NW Etch

NW Etch samples

NW Etch is a leader in manufacturing intricate, high quality parts for commercial and defense uses. They produce thin-metal components utilizing a photo chemical etching method of fabrication. From bombers, spacecraft and helicopters, to medical devices, jewelry, and commemorative event items, the staff at NW Etch works on custom one-off solutions or tens of thousands of the component, machined meticulously. Parts can be machined from .0005 inches to.060 inches thick, and up to five feet wide. The company is ISO 9001:2008 and ITAR qualified, enabling it to partner with major defense contractors.

One of the company’s challenges is to let others know of its vast array of capabilities. At the suggestion of the Tacoma-Pierce County Economic Development Board, Glenn Dooley, President, and Mitch Zoch, National Business Development Manager, recently completed the Washington State Economic Gardening program. The program is managed by the Washington State Department of Commerce and designed to assist companies who are poised for growth to understand and overcome various business obstacles that might present themselves. Says Zoch of the program, “It made available research tools and methodologies, along with access to professionals, that a small company like ours just couldn’t afford.”  The company is using the new tools to target and map new potential customers in multiple industry sectors across the country and around the world.

To learn more about NW Etch, including a short video describing their unique process, or to arrange a plant tour for your company’s mechanical engineers, visit www.nwetch.com or call Mitch Zoch at 800-34-2401.
