[ARCHIVED] Airport Advisory Commission applicants sought

March 23, 2012

The Pierce County Executive is seeking applicants to fill four positions on the Thun Field Advisory Commission (TFAC). The Pierce County Council created the TFAC to provide the community and airport tenants an opportunity to interact and make recommendations for the future of the Pierce County Airport/Thun Field. The commission meets bi-monthly to review issues related to the airport and other properties within the airport's Area of Influence. All positions are unpaid.

Three of the commission vacancies are designated for South Hill Community Residents. One vacancy is for a full four-year term that will expire April 12, 2016. Two vacancies will fulfill the remainder of an unexpired term, expiring on April 12, 2015.

One commission vacancy is designated for an Airport Business Representative. Applicants must be either an airport tenant or a pilot to be eligible. This position will fulfill the remainder of an unexpired term, expiring on April 12, 2015.

The deadline for submitting applications is close of business April 20, 2012.

Applications are available by calling 253-798-2428 or here: http://www.co.pierce.wa.us/xml/services/citzopp/B&CAppBasic.pdf.
