[ARCHIVED] Superior Court Employees Named to Statewide Leadership Appointments.

Presiding Judge Martin had the following to say about each appointee:

Judge Kitty-Ann van Doorninck, was elected as the President-Elect of the Superior Court Judges Association. This is a great honor for our entire court. Over the history of the SCJA, there have only been a handful of judges from Pierce County to serve as President of the organization. Judge van Doorninck’s selection is the culmination and recognition of nearly two decades of selfless, outstanding leadership on a statewide basis. We look forward to her tenure as President, which will begin at next year’s Conference.

Judge Bryan Chushcoff was re-elected as Treasurer of the Superior Court Judges Association. His re-election reflects the well-deserved confidence and trust placed in him by his colleagues statewide. He has proved to be the steady, thoughtful leader the SCJA needs.

Court Administrator, Chris Gaddis, was elected as Vice-President of the Association of Washington Superior Court Administrators. This is quite an honor and reflects how highly regarded he is by his peers throughout the state.

Presiding Judge Elizabeth Martin also wanted to thank and acknowledge the contributions of those Pierce County Judicial Officers who provided instruction during the conference. Judge Helen Whitener participated as a panelist on the topic of Trauma-Informed Judicial Practices.  Judge Jack Nevin presented a plenary session on Evidence.  Commissioner Adams led a plenary session presentation on The Hague Convention, UCCJEA and Relocation issues in family law cases. Each of these presentations was excellent and well-received.
