Annex Remodel Underway
As a continuation to our efforts to provide timely and reliable service to our customers, we are currently renovating the Development Center and the east end of the Pierce County Annex.
Upgrades to the space will create an enhanced environment for our customers and staff in support of our efforts to be the Best Public Agency. By relocating all staff around the Development Center, we also expect to see improved collaboration between staff.
Highlights include:
- A customer service window that is in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will be added
- Improved building security
- New finishes and furniture
Project details
The project is currently in its first phase. The work is planned in two phases, and is expected to be completed in late Spring 2019.
In late 2018, we completed pre-construction work, obtained permits, and solicited bids. The contract was awarded to J.A.M Construction and work started Jan. 14.
Pierce County Facilities Management is the project manager.
Impacts
Our goal is to minimize impacts to our services, customers and staff. Customers visiting the Development Center Lobby may experience construction noise and dust, and see areas covered with plastic sheeting.
Staff will temporarily relocate to different areas of the east and west ends of the Annex throughout the work.
