[ARCHIVED] Inclement Weather Policy

February 8, 2019

District Court offices at the County City Building and Probation Offices at the Hess Building , including the District Court Resource Center are projected to be open during normal business hours, unless a Court Closure Order is signed by the Presiding Judge. Notice of any court closure will be posted on the Court website.  Not every courtroom may be operational at the start of the day depending on road and weather conditions   Judicial Officers understand that not everyone can make their court time, so they have the intention of being flexible.  Opening on time allows proceedings to move forward if all parties are present, in the hopes of hearing all matters scheduled that day.

If you are unable to make it to court or your probation appointment, or you will be delayed, please review the bulleted list for further clarification:

  • If you are currently in trial or scheduled for a hearing in front of a judge, contact the court via Live Chat, email, fax or phone.
  • Live Chat:
  • Email: [email protected]
  • Fax: (253) 798-6310 or (253) 798-6616
  • Phone: (253) 798-7487
  • For all matters involving probation, please contact the Probation Office at (253) 798-7595.
  • Jurors who have questions should call Jury Administration at (253)798-7782.

EMPLOYEES ONLY:  District Court employees are to check the message on the district court employee information line for inclement weather updates.  Staff are encouraged to report to work at their scheduled time if it is safe to do so, even though there is a two-hour grace period from the Executive’s Office.
