A project to repair a culvert located under Whiteman Road Southwest and install guardrail will begin July 15. The work is expected to be complete by late August.
The culvert is located where the road intersects with Whiteman Cove Road Southwest on the southwest end of Key Peninsula.
Crews will repair and seal joints within the culvert using concrete grout and rubber seals. Approximately 125 feet of guardrail will be installed on the west side of Whiteman Road Southwest in the project area.
Work hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. The road may be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic during work hours.
The contractor is NW Relining LLC. The construction cost is approximately $87,000 and is funded with County Road Funds.
