As our Homeless Programs team continues to work closely with local, state, and national health officials, we want to update the community on efforts to support vulnerable residents. After the Washington State Department of Commerce awarded Pierce County $1.6M in emergency funds to address public health needs of people experiencing homelessness, we collaborated with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and City of Tacoma to develop a plan.
The round one funding decision allocated $1,075,227 to seven agencies:
- Tacoma Rescue Mission
- Helping Hand House
- Catholic Community Services
- The Coffee Oasis
- Homeward Bound – New Hope
- Altheimer Memorial Church
- St. Vincent DePaul
Agencies may still apply for the remaining funds totaling $565,002.
