After the Washington State Department of Commerce awarded Pierce County $1.6M in emergency funds to address public health needs of people experiencing homelessness, we collaborated with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and City of Tacoma to develop a plan. The round one funding decision was made last week. The second round is currently open for agencies to apply for the remaining funds totaling $565,002.
This funding is to address the COVID-19 outbreak related public health needs of people experiencing homelessness. This includes isolation/quarantine for persons experience homelessness, emergency shelter expansion, and outreach services. Applicants who submitted applications in round 1 but were not funded, are encouraged to reapply as the application has been changed to allow for greater detail.
To be eligible for the second round of funding, applications are due no later than April 28, 2020 at 4:30 p.m. An announcement for the second round of funding is expected the first week of May.
