As our Homeless Programs team continues to work closely with local, state, and national health officials, we want to update the community on efforts to support vulnerable residents. After the Washington State Department of Commerce awarded Pierce County $1.6M in emergency funds to address public health needs of people experiencing homelessness, we collaborated with the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and City of Tacoma to develop a plan.
The round 1 funding decision was announced last month. Round 2 funding allocated the remaining $565,002 to thirteen agencies:
- Saint Vincent De Paul
- City of Puyallup
- Catholic Community Services
- Our Sister’s House
- Sacred Bridge
- Coffee Oasis
- The Rescue Mission
- Harbor Hope Center
- Communities in Schools- Peninsula
- Comprehensive Life Resources
- Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department
- VADIS
- Valeo
Additional funding for housing stability and homelessness will become available soon.
