[ARCHIVED] Senior Farmers Market Voucher program opens!

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program provides low-income seniors with vouchers to purchase produce from participating farmers markets and roadside stands. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the State of Washington, but the program is coordinated locally by Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources, the local Area Agency on Aging for Pierce County.


To be eligible to receive a voucher, you must meet all of the following: 

  • You must be 60 years old or older (or 55+ if you are Native American /Alaska Native
  • Must have valid government issued identification
  • Your income must be below 185% of Federal Poverty Level.  That means:
    • $23,606 Annual or $1,967 Monthly Income for 1 person
    • $31,894 Annual or $2,658 Monthly Income for 2 people
    • $40,185 Annual or $3,349 Monthly Income for 3 people
    • $48,470 Annual or $4,039 Monthly Income for 4 people
    • For larger households, add $691/month for each additional person
  • You must be a resident of Pierce County

Registration will continue through June 19th, or until all vouchers are claimed. One set of vouchers ($40) is allowed per household, not per person. Vouchers will be mailed within 4 weeks of receiving completed applications. If you submit your application online, it may take up to one week for your application to be processed.  


Participants may apply online, print out an application to mail or fax in, or call the Aging and Disability Resource Center at 253-798-4600 to get signed up.
