Pierce County Human Services is announcing a CARES Act funding opportunity for organizations interested in assisting domestic and family violence victims in response to COVID-19. A total of $1 million has been allocated to help residents who are fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence. For this first funding competition, the County estimates a minimum of $200,000 will be available.
The priority is to support needs of people experiencing domestic and family violence and the provision of support for domestic violence victims through the following activities:
- Legal assistance services
- Access to technology and technology support
- Emergency vouchers for unique needs
- Training, education and outreach
To be considered for the first round of funding, submit an application on or before July 6, 2020. This funding is provided through the federal CARES Act as part of the community response and resilience plan. Funds are available until expended or the need is fulfilled.
