Pierce County Human Services is announcing the round 1 funding decision from federal CARES Act dollars for mortgage assistance and foreclosure prevention counseling. A total of $2.2 million will be used to target homeowners at risk of foreclosure who have suffered a COVID-19 related loss. These expenditures are part of the community response and resilience plan to prevent people from losing their current housing and to avoid foreclosures. For round 1, a total of $1,382,615 will be allocated to the following agencies:
- Habitat for Humanity, $1,200,000
- Pierce County Coalition for Development Disabilities, $182,615
Interested applicants may apply for round 2 funding is available until July 20, 2020.
