Pierce County Human Services is announcing the round 2 funding decision from federal CARES Act dollars for mortgage assistance and foreclosure prevention counseling. A total of $2.2 million was allocated be used to target homeowners at risk of foreclosure who have suffered a COVID-19 related loss. For round 1, a total of $1,382,615 was allocated.
The Pierce County Council allocated an additional one million to support foreclosure prevention counseling and mortgage assistance, making the total allocated amount over $3.2 million. For round 2, the remaining $1,817,835 was allocated to the following agencies:
- Pierce County Coalition for Developmental Disabilities (PC2), $179,650
- Washington State Housing Commission, $1,545,000
- Multicultural Child and Family Hope Center, $93,185
These expenditures are part of the community response and resilience plan to prevent people from losing their current housing and to avoid foreclosures.
