SUPERIOR COURT PRESS RELEASE
JANUARY 13, 2021
SUSPENSION OF JURY TRIALS
Today, Pierce County Superior Court postponed all jury trials until at least March 1, 2021. There are currently no jury trials ongoing at the County City Building. The judges made this decision for the safety of witnesses, litigants, defendants and court staff during this time of continued elevated COVID-19 positive case numbers. The court believes the additional delay will help more of our potential jurors and court participants obtain vaccinations, thus creating a safer environment for all involved. Emergency Order 20-23 will be sent out tomorrow and does not affect bench trials, or other in-court appearances.
Superior Court requests that citizens of Pierce County follow the recommendations of the Governor in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
