Tips to Minimize Permit Application Review Delays

Minimize project delays during this busy time

We have implemented several measures including overtime, third-party review and adjusting work priorities to address the record number of applications received in 2021.

You also play an important role in ensuring timely application review. Here are some tips to help minimize delays on your project:

  • Submit complete applications—Include all documents and forms required on your submittal standards. Tracking and processing incomplete applications slows down the approval process. If you are uncertain that you have everything that you need for a successful first review, please reach out to Ask the Development Center.
  • Combine your resubmittals—If more information has been requested for your application, please include everything in a single online resubmittal. This allows us to review and process them more quickly.
  • Be patient and understand there may be longer delays in answering phone messages and emails.

If you have a time sensitive resubmittal that requires special attention or have any questions, please contact Kevin Stender, Development Center manager, at [email protected] or Amy Wakefield, Permit and Development Center supervisor, at [email protected],

We know how important timely and reliable reviews are for your projects and appreciate your patience and partnership as we tackle this heavy workload.
