Council wrapped its pre-budget planning meetings Friday, Oct. 15 and is beginning its in-depth review of proposed expenditures and revenue collections next week.

This is the time when members hear from department directors, weigh department needs, new requests and deliberate to make sure the final proposed budget aligns with Council priorities and policy decisions.

A series of "Committee of the Whole", or COW, meetings begin Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m. The information presented at the Tuesday meeting will help Council determine how to allocate the money collected from the new 1/10th of 1% sales tax to support behavioral health and therapeutic courts.
 
Find the meeting materials here, and see additional information about how to join the meeting here. Additional budget-specific meetings planned for next week include:

• Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m.: Council hears an overview of the Executive's proposed 2022-2023 Biennial Budget from the Finance team. Meeting materials will be posted here once they are ready.
• Thursday, Oct. 21, 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.: Planning and Public Works is the focus of both meetings. Meeting materials will be posted here once they are ready.
• Friday, Oct. 22 at 9:30 a.m.: Human Services and the Assessor-Treasurer's Office will be covered. Meeting materials will be posted here once they are ready.
