Emergency permit extensions available until 2023

In response to continued supply chain and labor issues, the County Council recently approved Ordinance 2022-3, which allows flexibility for time extensions on applications and permits.

Time extension details

  • Standard fees apply to time extensions (list of fee codes
  • Some projects require additional evaluation to ensure current code compliance before an extension may be granted (e.g., flood and stormwater codes)
  • Includes sewer applications and permits covered under Title 13
  • Does not apply to timelines for filing appeals

You can request an extension by sending an email before your application or permit expiration date to the primary staff member reviewing your application. You can also send a request to Ask the Development Center

The time extension option remains available until January 31, 2023. Two previous time extension ordinances were passed since the beginning of the pandemic (Ord. 2020-46 and Ord. 2021-78).
