The process for developing a regional approach has begun! Social Change Partners (SCP) has officially launched their project and recently completed the background research and document review phase. They are currently interviewing key stakeholders in the community and have started their in-depth analysis of Unified Regional Approaches in operation in other jurisdictions. SCP will continue with interviews for the month of September before diving into the second phase of their research.

In other news, the 500 bus vouchers as part of the ARPA funded pilot transportation project have been distributed and are in use by clients. A status report on the program will be available later this fall.

Pierce County Human Services Homeless and Housing programs are currently working on a Notice of Funding Availability for various shelter projects that will be announced in the coming months. $17.65 million in affordable housing funds are on schedule for recommendations to the Pierce County Council on September 13, with awards officially released on September 20, 2022.

Next up on our list of tasks is to develop data dashboards and visualizations related to housing and homelessness in Pierce County. Learn more about plan progress at www.piercecountywa.gov/homelessplan
