Pierce County Superior Court would like to congratulate Commissioner Clint Johnson who is the recipient of the 2022 Innovating Justice Award. The Board for Judicial Administration (BJA) chairs, Chief Justice Steve Gonzalez and Judge Tam Bui, applauded Commissioner Johnson for his efforts in the statewide Eviction Resolution Pilot Program (ERPP). The program addresses and mitigates disputes between landlords and tenants about rent owed. The ERPP brings the parties together with a professionally trained, impartial mediator to help them solve rent issues before an unlawful detainer (eviction) case is filed in court. The BJA presented Commissioner Johnson with this award at their meeting on October 21, 2022.
The Innovating Justice Award recognizes an individual or group for providing exceptional leadership in helping courts deliver innovative and responsive justice using a race equity lens.
