[ARCHIVED] Commissioner Clint Johnson Receives 2022 Innovating Justice Award

Pierce County Superior Court would like to congratulate Commissioner Clint Johnson who is the recipient of the 2022 Innovating Justice AwardThe Board for Judicial Administration (BJA) chairs, Chief Justice Steve Gonzalez and Judge Tam Bui, applauded Commissioner Johnson for his efforts in the statewide Eviction Resolution Pilot Program (ERPP). The program addresses and mitigates disputes between landlords and tenants about rent owed. The ERPP brings the parties together with a professionally trained, impartial mediator to help them solve rent issues before an unlawful detainer (eviction) case is filed in court. The BJA presented Commissioner Johnson with this award at their meeting on October 21, 2022.

 

The Innovating Justice Award recognizes an individual or group for providing exceptional leadership in helping courts deliver innovative and responsive justice using a race equity lens.

About Commissioner Clint Johnson:

Commissioner Johnson was appointed to the bench in October of 2010.  Johnson received a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College in 1981. He then completed a Juris Doctor at the University of Puget Sound School of Law in 1984. Prior to joining the bench, he was a partner at Faubion, Johnson, Reeder & Fraley, P.S. in Lakewood. His areas of practice included estate planning, business law, real estate and bankruptcy matters. His membership included the Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association. Johnson also served as a member of the Tacoma Estate Planning Council and was a past president of the Rotary Club.
