Expedited permit process for sewer cappings now available

As of March 2023, sewer capping permits no longer require an application review. Sewer contractors can now apply for and instantly receive a permit in one online transaction. This follows an identical adjustment that expedited the process for emergency sewer repair permits earlier this year.

This change simplifies and accelerates the permit process for customers faced with emergency sewer repairs and cappings, allowing contractors to restore service as soon as possible. Please note, sewer construction standards will still be enforced by Pierce County.

To get started, go to PierceCountyWa.gov/Permit, select Apply Online, then Create an Application Online, and enter the tax parcel number or site address. Click the Sewer Emergency Repair/Capping Permit on the Permit Type Selection screen to proceed and enter your information.
