Pierce County Aging and Disability Resources is offering free PEARLS training
Aging and Disability Resources is offering free PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives) training to residents providing services to and supporting older adults in Pierce County. PEARLS coaches educate older adults about depression and how to develop skills to lead more self-sufficient and active lives. The Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) is an evidence-based intervention for older adults who are experiencing feelings of depression and loneliness. Training to become certified to provide the PEARLS intervention is available online from the University of Washington’s Health Promotion Research Center.
Pierce County Aging & Disability Resources (ADR) has purchased a limited number of training spots and will be making these available to clinicians, community health workers, health care providers, and other human service professionals who serve older adults living at home in the community.
Applications are accepted through April 14, 2023, or until all spots are filled. Interested applicants may apply online: Become a Certified PEARLS Coach (cognitoforms.com).
