$6M available to support development, preservation of affordable housing

Pierce County Human Services is announcing a notice of funding availability (NOFA) of over $6 million to support the development and preservation of affordable housing. Funding from the 1406 Affordable Housing Sales Tax Fund (1406), 2060 Affordable Housing Document Recording Fee Fund Program (2060), and the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), is made available to support the development and preservation of affordable housing in Pierce County.

Eligible organizations may apply for capital (homeownership or rental) or operation and maintenance projects. Capital projects are defined as the acquisition, rehabilitation, and/or new construction of housing projects or units within housing projects that are affordable to and that benefit low, very low, and extremely low-income households. Operating and Maintenance projects are defined as support for building operation and maintenance costs of housing projects or units within housing projects that are affordable to very low-income households and that require a supplement to rental income to cover ongoing operating expenses.

Interested parties must apply online before 2 p.m. on Monday, June 26.

Applicants must register with OpenGov, Pierce County’s new e-Procurement Portal, using this link. After signing up, an email will be sent to activate the account. There is no cost to register with OpenGov. Vendors already registered with OpenGov can view current solicitations at www.piercecountywa.gov/bids.
