8th Ave. S culvert replacement, Nov. 6-8

Crews will replace a culvert along 8th Ave. S Nov. 6-8.

The culvert is at the Brighton Creek crossing, located about 500 feet south of the intersection of 336th St. S and 8th Ave. S.

About the work
Crews will replace a 36-inch culvert with two 42-inch culverts. The existing culvert has deteriorated.

The excavation and installation work will take place Nov. 6-8. Temporary paving will be in place for several weeks before the road is repaved (weather permitting).

This work is weather dependent. If heavy rains occur, the work may be postponed to 2024.

Traffic impacts
8th Ave. S between 336th St. S and 33803 8th Ave. S will be closed 24 hours a day Nov. 6-8.

Local access only (residents, mail, garbage/recycling providers, and buses) will be allowed between 33803 8th Ave. S and Highway 702 during the work.

A detour route will take motorists from 336th St. S to 40th Ave. S to SR 702.

Updates will be posted at www.PierceCountyWa.gov/8thAveCulvert.
