Final certification of the 2023 general election

The November 7, 2023, General Election has been officially certified by the Canvassing Board. The Board is composed of Auditor Linda Farmer, County Council Chair Ryan Mello, and a deputy prosecuting attorney.

The final turnout of the election was 30.36% with 168,324 ballots accepted and tabulated.

There were 101,133 ballots returned to a drop box. The top 5 most used drop boxes were:

  1. West Pierce Fire & Rescue (6,857 ballots) 
  2. Kandle Park Police Substation (6,427 ballots) 
  3. Puyallup Library (6,095 ballots) 
  4. Pierce County Annex (6,088 ballots) 
  5. South Hill Library (5,436 ballots)

The total number of rejected ballots was 1,634. Of those rejected ballots, 72% were returned too late, 18% had signatures that did not match their voter record, and 8% did not sign their envelope.
