March madness hits PC Parks!


Register today for Youth Recreation Basketball program. Players ages 5-8 of all skill levels can take part in this popular program that emphasizes sportsmanship, skill development and fun!
 
All practices and games are played at the Lakewood Community Center located at 9112 Lakewood Dr. SW. 
 
The cost is $45 per youth which includes t-shirt and players clinic. Registration deadline is March 13. Volunteer coaches are needed for the program. If interested, please call (253) 798-4091 or click here to register.

Foothills dash

10th annual Foothills Dash

 
Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Foothills Trail at the Tenth Annual Foothills Dash on Saturday, March 7!

The 5K and 10K run/walk starts at 9 a.m. at the Orting Eagles Lodge parking lot, 112 Bridge St. in Orting. Check in and registration begins at 7 a.m.
 
The Foothills Trail is paved with flat areas and easy slopes, great for runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. The 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified and competitively timed races. Ribbons are awarded to the top finishers in each age bracket.
 
Registration on March 7 is $30 and $5 for 1 mile run. For more information click here.

On Sunday, March 8, our annual Bridal Showcase will be held at the Environmental Services Building in University Place. Come tour our facility and take in the amazing view over the Puget Sound. Meet with some of our professional caterers, local photographers, DJ’s and rental companies.

Family Bingo Night

 
Family Bingo returns on Friday, April 3 from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place!
 
This is a great night where friends and family can come together and enjoy one another’s company and if they’re lucky, win one of the many prizes donated by our terrific local businesses. $5/person includes a packet of 6 bingo sheets.

Skateboard Park season opens Apr. 1

 
The Harold E. LeMay Skateboard Park is one of the largest all-concrete skateboard parks in the state. It's located behind the recreation building adjacent to the new baseball fields at Sprinker. It has skate features for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels including:

  • A peanut bowl with pool coping 9' and 11' in depth
  • An out-of-sight snake run from 8'-11' deep
  • A 10' vert wall
  • 14' clamshell
  • Half pipes
  • Waves
  • Banks
  • Rails and steps
  • Multiple shade structures and bleachers for families and viewing

Chambers Bay

New Chambers Creek Park closures coming in March

 
The U.S. Open Championship - the largest sporting event to be held in the Pacific Northwest - is coming to Chambers Bay from June 15-21. In preparation for the championship, Pierce County and the USGA are implementing a phased-in approach to preserve public access to the park as long as possible during the set-up.
