Information about inspections related to Phase 1 Construction Restart RequirementsGovernor Inslee announced that low-risk construction projects can restart if specific safety measures are in place. Pierce County is ready to help get our economy moving again and has developed a plan to respond to the anticipated surge of inspection requests.
For the safety of everyone at the construction site please make sure you have implemented the Phase 1 Construction Restart COVID-19 Job Site Requirements before scheduling inspections.
Please be aware, if our inspectors do not feel the job site requirements are in place and that they cannot safely do their job, they will leave the construction site. In these instances, we will require a reinspection fee and there will be a delay in scheduling a reinspection.
In addition to the Governor’s revised orders we continue to allow Skype, Facetime and Microsoft Team inspections for the following projects:
- New or Replacement Residential Furnace and heat pumps
- Residential water heaters
- Generators
- Occupied Residential remodels
- Additional inspection types such as: shower pans, decks, previous corrections on partial approved inspections may also be completed virtually.
Thank you to construction site operators for keeping us safe and healthy throughout this ever-changing event.
Please contact Nick Waggood, Assistant Building Official, by email if you have questions about inspections.
General questions about how to comply with construction safety practices should be directed to the state’s Business Response Center.
