Pierce County Council review of updates to community plans postponed

The Pierce County Planning Commission’s final recommendations on updates to the Frederickson, Mid-County, Parkland-Spanaway-Midland and South Hill community plans were submitted to the Pierce County Council on April 15 for consideration.

You can now view:

  • The commission’s final recommendations on each plan and the associated development regulations and Comprehensive Plan amendments.
  • A summary of the Planning Commission recommendations.
  • An updated interactive map that shows the Planning Commission’s recommended zoning map changes.
The Pierce County Council was anticipated to begin considering the proposed changes for each plan this spring. Due to COVID-19 and the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, the council’s consideration process has been postponed.

Once the consideration process begins, there will be opportunities for in-person and written public comment. Information on future council meetings will be posted at piercecountywa.gov/council.

In the meantime, the community can provide written comment on the proposed updates to the council at piercecountywa.gov/contactcouncil.

To learn more about the updates, community members can call the Community Plans Hotline at (253) 798-2799, email [email protected] or visit piercecountywa.gov/cpupdate.
