Help Pierce County plan for a new type of care facility in unincorporated Pierce County by attending an online open house at piercecountywa.gov/esf.

Health care service providers are interested in opening new types of residential care facilities, which provide a combination of housing and daily care for residents.

Some of these types of Enhanced Services Facilities, which are licensed by the State of Washington, may include residents with mental and behavioral health disorders who may pose a danger to themselves or others. The County Council established a temporary moratorium on locating Enhanced Services Facilities while appropriate regulations are developed.

Visit piercecountywa.gov/ESF to learn about the types of facilities and where they could be allowed, ask questions and submit comments. Your comments will be provided to the Pierce County Planning Commission and Pierce County Council for consideration in decision making.
