A message from Councilmember Amy Cruver
Dear Friends and Families,
It’s a new year and new beginnings. I am so honored to be your new representative for the 3rd Council District. While I’ve spoken with and met many of you working behind the county scenes for the past 8 years, and the state for 7 years prior, I’m eager to dig-in to my new role, representing you in policies that will promote a free and inspired life.
Last week, we voted on standing committees. I will serve on Public Safety and Human Services. I must admit that Public Safety was my #1 pick. It includes a myriad of responsibilities, including making recommendations regarding animals; assigned counsel; combined communications network; corrections; courts; criminal justice; prosecuting attorney and more. To find the committee schedule, click here.
Human Services covers an extensive array of services, including behavioral health; children, youth and their families; community services; homelessness; prevention; seniors and more. To find the Human Services schedule, click here.
In my next letter, I will cover the external boards and commissions to which I was assigned. Which reminds me…there are citizen boards and commissions that have vacancies, such as the Thun Field Advisory Commission. Find out more about the commission here, or apply here.
I will always work for the best interests of our district. I will do my best to ensure responsible stewardship of our financial and environmental resources. They are tools critical for individual freedom, community health and well-being for ensuring a better place for the next generation.
When the weather is more cooperative and we get out of this debilitating lockdown and can meet face-to-face, my assistant Larry Stickney and I plan to spend a great deal of time out in the district meeting and listening to you. Your goals for government are important. I will be seeking your perspective on the issues in front of us. Please stay in touch.
Grateful for You!
