Please take this online survey to share your thoughts
We estimate that 70 percent of people experiencing homelessness in Pierce County are from Pierce County. That’s because when people become homeless, they tend to stay near the community they’re familiar with.
Homelessness is a statewide issue that affects all of us. We will be taking a regional approach to finding solutions, working at the county level with community partners to find ways to address the needs of our population in need of a sheltered place to sleep at night.
At the direction of Council, and lead by the county’s Department of Human Services, work is currently underway to draft the 2021 Comprehensive Plan to End Homelessness. Dedicated service providers, community members and people with lived experience comprise two different groups tasked with collaborating to develop this comprehensive plan and a shelter plan to identify ways we can help.
Part of that work includes gathering feedback from the community. Please take a moment to share your thoughts about ending homelessness in Pierce County by taking
this survey.
The county also has webpages dedicated to keeping the public informed about the work being done to write the plans. You can visit
this website for more information about the work groups and their meeting dates and times.
