A look at Week 1 and what's to come in Week 2 of budget
This week the Pierce County Council kicked off its in-depth review of the proposed 2022-2023 Biennial Budget with four meetings.
The first meeting served as an overview of the proposed budget by Director of Finance Gary Robinson, as previously outlined by the Executive.
You can watch it here. The second and third meetings focused on the Department of Planning and Public Works and allowed for a back and forth between members and Director Jen Tetatzin, who presented her department’s requested funding for the next biennium. Watch the

As Chair of Council's Human Services Committee, I am especially interested in taking a deeper look at the Human Services department budget and discussing what we will do to address homelessness and increasing affordable housing opportunities across the region.

- 9:30 a.m.: Superior Court; Juvenile Court
- 1:30 p.m.: Auditor’s Office; District Court
- Thursday, Oct. 28
- 9:30 a.m.: Medical Examiner; Parks and Recreation
- 1:30 p.m.: Department of Assigned Counsel; Prosecuting Attorney; Facilities Management
- Friday, Oct. 29
- 9:30 a.m.: Human Services
