On Monday, Nov. 1, we’ll be starting our project to replace the broken sewer main on Steilacoom Boulevard in Lakewood. Because the work will involve excavating nearly 30 feet deep, Steilacoom Boulevard between Lakewood Drive SW and Gravelly Lake Drive SW will be fully closed for approximately three months (Feb. 1, 2022).
This is the final phase of the project and will involve replacing 500 feet of existing 36-inch diameter pipe, removing the aboveground bypass systems, and restoring the road.
The sidewalk along the north side of Steilacoom Boulevard and all crosswalks will remain open during the project. Please drive with caution if you’re traveling in the area. Learn more about the project at www.PierceCountyWa.gov/LakewoodSewerMain.
