Congrats to our student athletes on a perfect season
Today I want to take a minute to recognize the amazing student athletes that comprise the Graham-Kapowsin High School football team, which just completed one of the most dominant high school football seasons ever in state history!
Not only did the Eagles finish the regular season with a 14-0 record that saw them outscoring their opponents by an average of 41 points, but they also won the WIAA Class 4A State Football Championships a couple of weekends ago.
However, they saved the best show for last. Last week the team traveled to Las Vegas to compete against a powerhouse football team from Georgia that brags some of the nation’s top football recruits.
On Saturday our local team showed what they are made of during the nationally televised GEICO State Champions Bowl Series game as they went back and forth against class 7A Georgia state champions Collins Hill.
With just seconds to go GK’s quarterback made a clutch game-winning throw to the end zone, ending the season with a perfect, 15-0 record.
It is an understatement to say to the team, Coach Eric Kurle and Bethel School District we’re proud of you! Your hard work, grit and determination are an inspiration to all of us.
May this victorious, perfect season continue to inspire these young champions to pursue more exploits and excellence in their lives ahead. Once again, congratulations on your success.
GO EAGLES!
