Dear Friends,

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the year’s end, I find myself sitting in my reading chair and reflecting on the many events of the year. It’s an opportune time to review the ups and downs of the year gone by, learn from them, and prepare for 2022.

I must say that the most extraordinary event of 2021 was becoming a first-time grandmother. I know I should perhaps be politically correct and say it was being an elected council member, but a new life and wanting to guard her future shines a new light on the meaning of life and family and our government.

My message today is merely to share the importance of gratitude….even for the little things…I’m grateful my trip to town was safe. I’m grateful I had time to read today. I’m grateful to be able to share ideas with you. I’m grateful for Christmas and our freedom to share in the celebrations of all cultures.

The verse below reflects the holiday theme of “Peace on Earth”:

“If there is righteousness in the heart;
            there will be beauty in the character.
If there is beauty in the character;
            there will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home;
            there will be order in society.
If there is order in society;
            there will be peace in the world.” – Anonymous

And finally,

"The holiday season is a perfect time to reflect on our blessings and seek ways to make life better for those around us." – Anonymous

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, a safe and memorable holiday season and prosperous New Year!
