Pierce County Parks Foothills Dash returns to Orting on April 23
The Foothills Dash, presented by Pierce County Parks, will be held Saturday, April 23, at the Foothills Trail in Orting. The race features 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances.
The run begins at Orting Main City Park and follows one of the most scenic sections of the trail for unobstructed views of nearby Mount Rainier along the Carbon River upstream through farmland and forest. The 5K and 10K courses are USATF-certified and all distances will be chip timed.
The race welcomes all ages and abilities on the easy sloped and paved trail. Participants must pre-register online by April 15. Each registration includes a race bib, keepsake medal, CLIF BAR energy bars, local ice creamery Scoop There It Is sweet treats, and The Old Spaghetti Factory coupons in the swag bags. Refreshments will be available, provided by Tacoma Boys Markets.
Three lucky entries will be randomly drawn to receive a gift certificate for new running shoes, compliments of South Sound Running. For more information or to register, visit the Foothills Dash website.
