Can you discharge fireworks in your neighborhood? The answer depends on where you live. Many of the cities and towns in Pierce County have fireworks regulations that limit their use July 4, or the days leading up to and on Independence Day.
Use this website to find your city or town to see what regulations are in place. If you live in unincorporated Pierce County this is the last year you will be allowed to discharge fireworks in the days leading up to July 4. New this year you’ll also be able to use them on Dec. 31 to ring in the new year.
By 2023 fireworks are limited to July 4 and Dec. 31 in unincorporated Pierce County. The Pierce County Council adopted this change in 2021 with Ordinance No. 2021-79.
As is the case every year, if you choose to use fireworks this year to celebrate the Fourth, please be responsible and only use those that are allowed by the state fire marshal.
