Pierce County Small Business Innovation Matching Grant Program
Applications for First Round of Funding Due Sept. 9 at 5:00 pm 


The Pierce County Small Business Innovation Matching Grant program helps small businesses located in UNINCORPORATED* Pierce County move forward in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.


*The term "unincorporated" refers to any areas that do not fall within the limits of a city in Pierce County. 

The grant will aid in covering costs related to innovative projects that will help businesses in unincorporated Pierce County grow and ultimately become more resilient. Eligible businesses should demonstrate a need for funding that will allow the business to implement new ideas, improve operations and processes, or upgrade facilities and equipment. Subject to available funds, the grant reimburses 50% of eligible costs up to $20,000 per applicant.

Pierce County C-PACER Program

Pierce County Now Accepting Applications for Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy + Resiliency Program (C-PACER) 

The C-PACER program allows owners and developers of eligible properties in Pierce County to obtain long-term financing, at a lower interest rate, for qualifying energy generation, efficiency, water conservation or resiliency projects. Washington State Department of Commerce Working WA Grants: Round 5
Applications Due Sept. 9 at 5:00 pm


The Washington State Legislature set aside $70 million for Working WA Grants: Round 5. Portions of the available funds are set aside for specific sectors.
60% for the arts, heritage, and science sectors, including live entertainment venues. 40% for most other sectors, including hospitality, fitness, and personal services.

Important Notice for Grant Applicants

As of April 2022, recipients of grants using federal funds are required to have a UEI (Unique Entity Identifier), which replaces the DUNS Number. If you don’t have one yet, you may want to apply now. You may apply for grants without one, but cannot receive funds until you have a UEI

The Washington State Legislature has allocated $5 million for a grant program to assist businesses and nonprofits that are dependent to maintain their operations on the economic activity created through conventions hosted in Washington state.

Small Business Flex Fund

Small Business Flex Fund Loan Program

Small businesses and nonprofits can apply for a low-interest loan of up to $150,000 to finance expansion and growth as well as recover from the pandemic and subsequent economic slowdown through the Washington State Department of Commerce Small Business Flex Fund. Interested applicants pre-apply on the Flex Fund’s online portal and, if they qualify, will be matched with a lender.

Hire Pierce County Virtual Job Fairs

Hire Pierce County is a quarterly virtual job fair featuring Pierce County employers looking to fill open positions immediately. Events are open to employers from all sectors within Pierce County and employers of any size. Complete a Job Fair interest form if your company would like to participate in a WorkForce Central virtual job fair.
