Dear Friends & Neighbors,
We are well into 2016, and I have been busy with my new role as chair of the Pierce County Council. It’s my goal to keep you informed on what’s happening county-wide and in District 6. Here are a few updates to my print newsletter.
Public Safety, Human Services and Budget Committee Meeting – May 9th at 1:30 PM in Council Chambers, presentation on Point in Time survey and update from the Sheriff.
In the coming month Community Connections is meeting with Sager Family Homes and their other partners in Pierce County Government, including Public Works and Parks, to review the input and suggestions we received at the March 31s meeting. This will help to decide which suggestions can be implemented into the project design. Please contact Bryan Schmid, Housing Supervisor, Community Connections with any questions 253-798-6909
Sewer Task Force:
On April 26th Public Works and Planning and Land Services Departments presented an update to the Economic Infrastructure & Development on the different improvements that are being implemented as recommended by the Sewer Task Force. I would invite you to watch the committee meeting recording to learn more about the positive steps the County is taking to lessen the regulatory burdens for small businesses.
Pierce County Ferry:
The April 2016 edition of Sound Waves, the Pierce County Ferry newsletter, has been published and is now available here. The next Ferry Committee will be held at the Anderson Island Community Club on May 12th from 5:45-7:45 PM.
For this and more County news please spend a few moments reading this newsletter.
