3 Events for Friday, January 13
Dear Friends,
The year is just beginning and there is no shortage of events that will appreciate receiving your attention:
1st: I want to remind you of the community meeting regarding the proposed airport sites scheduled for Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m., at the Graham Kapowsin High School. I will be in attendance to listen to you and add updates.
2nd: I want to inform you of an opportunity for faith communities, interested individuals and businesses to learn about an organization called Family Promise, a national nonprofit that has served children and families experiencing homelessness since 1986. The meeting will take place on Friday, Jan. 13 from 12-3 p.m. at the Spanaway United Methodist Church, 135 163rd St S. A core team is in the development stages of this new nonprofit and are hoping to connect with you to partner in some capacity.
The purpose of the meeting is to take a deeper dive into what this program would look like in our community and identify ways you may be able to help. The core team is hoping 1-2 representatives from congregations or businesses and individuals will attend to learn more. A light lunch will be provided. Speakers will be present from the national office and a local affiliate currently implementing the program. Superintendent Tom Seigel will also present to inform us on the current landscape and lack of resources in the Bethel Community. I shall be in attendance to be more informed, as well.
If you can’t attend the meeting in person, here are the Joining instructions to attend via Zoom. For specific questions and to RSVP, email Jessica at [email protected].
3rd: If you are in the mood for a fun and relaxing evening with no pressure, join the folks at the Lacamas Community Center for some friendly games of bingo. Games start at 7 p.m. (Kitchen opens at 6 p.m.). Children eight years and older are welcome to play when accompanied by a paying adult. Paper card pack costs $7.00, two paper games cost $1.00 and one cost $.50. Proceeds help the Lacamas Community Fair.
Grateful for you!
