From the Desk of Amy Cruver...
The Senate just passed ESHB 1791 (31 yea, 17 nay, 1 excused) that terminated the Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission. A striking amendment was adopted so it will need to return to the House for concurrence. There are no anticipated problems.
Brief Summary of Amended Bill:
- Creates a Commercial Aviation Work Group to replace the Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission.
- Requires the Washington State Department of Transportation to evaluate long-range aviation needs in the broader context of state transportation needs.
- Requires the Commercial Aviation Work Group to investigate the expansion of existing airports and potential siting locations for greenfield sites.
I so appreciate all of the coordinated efforts from the communities to make this change. I’m so blessed to represent District 3!!
As always,
Grateful for you!
