Delays on Mountain Highway Starting May 1
Expect long delays along a six-mile stretch on Mountain Highway East, between 267th St E and SR 702 for three construction projects.
WSDOT will be removing two barriers to fish passages and repairing miles of the highway surface. The project is expected to run into the fall of 2023. Anticipate day or night one-way alternating traffic during work hours. Those heading for Mt. Rainier should allow for extra time for their trip.
This construction will be a hardship for local businesses, so please keep them in mind for your needs.
Travelers can sign up for email updates, real-time traffic information (available on the WSDOT app), or view the real-time map to learn more about the $15.9 million project.
